September in Williamsport

I enjoy this time of year as it is almost fall, yet there is still plenty of sunshine and warm weather to enjoy. This is the time of year I enjoy going on mini road trips with my windows down, and of course, grab a pumpkin spiced drink of some sort as I journey through the county. This fall, I hope you can explore some of Pickaway County! In this issue, I wanted to spotlight Williamsport and some of my favorite things to enjoy and visit in the area.
A & R Alpaca Farm and Gift Shop
10981 US Highway 22 Williamsport
Open year-round, A & R Alpaca farm is a great place to visit. The owners will show you around the farm and even introduce you to some new friends. Visit on September 25 and 26 for their annual Alpaca Days Event, which is a great opportunity to see baby alpacas, a fleece demonstration, shop in their gift shop, and enjoy food from a local food truck. For more information, or to schedule an appointment to visit on another day, call (614)361-8789.
Blossoms at the Bend
5564 Williamsport Pike, Williamsport
There is still time to enjoy fall foliage and flowers at this family-owned u-pick farm. Pick from their beautiful gardens and take home a unique, locally-grown bouquet.
Underdogs Pizza
315 Mill St, Williamsport, OH 43164
If you like coney dogs, I highly recommend Underdog’s Pizza. They also have ice cream, pizza, fries, burgers, and more. Underdogs is also a stop included on the Pickaway Pizza Trail, so bring your Pizza Passport if you’ve got one!
Honeyrun Farm
9642 Randle Road, Williamsport – www.honeyrunfarm.com
Local honey has lots of health benefits. While you can get Honyrun farm honey and soaps at their farm stand in Williamsport, you can also order their products online or buy them from several locations throughout Central Ohio. The Welcome Center keeps their honey in stock, as well as some of their specialty honey flavors.
Metzger Preserve
9 Ballard Ave, Williamsport – Just South of Ballard Park
One of Pickaway County Part District’s newest parks is located just outside the main drag of Williamsport. There are a variety of grassed and wooded trails, including the Prairie Trail, which is a one-mile loop along the outer boundary of the park.
