Barack Obama is fed up!

During a speech at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, the former president expressed his strong opposition to President Donald Trump.

During his visit to the prestigious school on Thursday, April 3, Obama discussed Trump’s proposals and executive orders.

With Trump in office for the next four years, the former president expressed his deep concern about the state of the nation.

“It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me, or a whole bunch of my predecessors,” he said of Trump’s actions against the federal government, immigration laws, and tariffs.

Obama emphasized the negative impact of Trump’s decision to bar the Associated Press from the press pool. The outlet was barred from reporting from the White House because it refused to change “Gulf of Mexico” to “Gulf of America.”

“Imagine if I’d done any of this. “Imagine I had removed Fox News’ credentials from the White House press corps,” he continued.

Obama continued by criticizing Trump for intimidating lawyers. “Imagine if I had said to law firms that were representing parties that were upset with policies my administration had initiated that you will not be allowed into government buildings,” he joked. “We will punish you economically for dissenting from the [ACA] or the Iran Deal.”

He went further: “The idea that a White House can say to law firms, ‘If you represent parties that we don’t like, we’re going to pull all our business or bar you from representing people effectively,’ is contrary to the basic compact we have as Americans.”

The former world leader elaborated on his concerns about students’ free speech, saying it was a pressing issue for him.

“I’m more deeply concerned with a federal government that threatens universities if they don’t give up students who are exercising their right to free speech,” he told reporters.

Before the November 2024 election, in which Trump defeated Kamala Harris, Obama spoke at a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, calling Trump a “wannabe king.”

He went on to say, “What I don’t understand is why anyone would believe Donald Trump will shake things up in a good way for them. Because there is no evidence that this man thinks about anyone other than himself.

Though Obama has avoided the media since Trump took office for a second term, the former president appears to be returning to politics to help the American people.
