‘American tax dollars should be used for the benefit of American citizens, especially in an issue as pressing as our nation’s housing crisis,’ said Secretary Turner.
The Trump administration announced that the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will collaborate to ensure that money appropriated for housing benefits for American citizens is not misdirected toward illegal aliens in the country.
The “American Housing Programs for American Citizens” Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by HUD Secretary Scott Turner and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. The agreement was implemented to “end the wasteful misappropriation of taxpayer dollars” to benefit people classified as immigrants rather than American citizens.
“American tax dollars should be used for the benefit of American citizens, especially when it comes to an issue as pressing as our nation’s housing crisis,” said Secretary Turner in a written statement.
“This new agreement will use resources, including technology and personnel, to ensure that the American people are the top priority when it comes to public housing. We will continue to work closely with DHS to maximize our resources and prioritize American citizens.”
The agencies will use a HUD employee to assist with Incident Command Center (ICC) operations. This will make it easier for the agencies to share data between units while also ensuring that taxpayer-funded housing programs are used appropriately and not to harbor or benefit immigrants.
“The Biden administration prioritized illegal aliens over our own citizens, including providing illegal aliens with taxpayer-funded housing at the expense of Americans. Not anymore.
The entire government will work together to identify abuse and exploitation of public benefits, as well as to ensure that those in this country illegally do not receive federal benefits or other financial incentives to stay. If you are an illegal immigrant, you should leave immediately. “The gravy train is over,” stated Secretary Noem.
