Two people nabbed in McDowell County narcotics bust

McDowell County, West Virginia – The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on Monday after executing a search warrant on Little Davy Road.

Deputies discovered a number of controlled substances, digital scales, plastic baggies, and two firearms, one of which had been reported stolen.

Candace Groves, 44, and Jeremy Gullett, 44, both from Davy, were taken into custody. Groves has been charged with possession with intent to distribute, maintaining a dwelling for drug sales, and felony conspiracy.

Gullett is charged with the same offenses, as well as being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and having stolen property.

Both suspects were arraigned before McDowell County Magistrate Richard VanDyke. Groves’ bond was set at $200,000 cash, and Gullett’s bond at $250,000 cash.

They were taken to the McDowell County Holding Unit.
