OMAHA, Nebraska – Cloud cover will increase overnight, preventing temperatures from reaching as low as Tuesday morning. Low temperatures will fall into the upper teens and lower 20s, with wind chills in the teens and upper single digits.
We can expect similar temperatures on Wednesday, but there is also a chance of patchy freezing drizzle in the middle of the day. The best chance appears to fall between commutes, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
While widespread problems are not expected, some areas may see some glazing and slick spots form; this is especially true south of the metro.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for most of southwest Iowa, with the exception of Harrison and Monona counties, Nemaha, Richardson, and Atchison counties, until 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
We do warm up for Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low 40s and some sunshine breaking through the clouds.
A few flurries are possible on Saturday, but the weekend looks mostly dry, with average temperatures in the mid-30s.
Temperatures will peak in the 30s through Monday, but signs point to a drop in the middle of next week. Additionally, snow is expected to return from Tuesday to Thursday. It’s too early to predict how much snow we’ll get, but something will come through next week.
