One dead following high speed crash in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA – A 25-year-old man died early Thursday morning after a serious crash on Molly Pitcher Highway in Greene Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Police say Cristian Lozada-Garcia lost control of his 2016 Volkswagen GTI on wet roads around 1 a.m.

The vehicle left the southbound shoulder, passed through a row of bushes, and collided with an embankment.

The impact sent the car briefly airborne before overturning several times and landing on its roof in a field off the road.

Lozada-Garcia and two other passengers were ejected from the vehicle during the collision. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

A 24-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both passengers in the car, were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

The crash closed both sides of Molly Pitcher Highway until 3:20 a.m., when it was reopened.

Police have not released information about the vehicle’s speed prior to the accident.
