Madonna has been open about her disdain of Trump over the years. Following the November election, she took to Instagram Stories to upload a snapshot of a yellow and orange cake with “F— Trump” written across the top, surrounded by cherries. “Stuffed my face with this cake last night,” she captioned the photo.
She posted a photograph alongside the cake, writing, “Trying to get my head around why a convicted felon, rapist, and bigot was chosen to lead our country because he’s good for the economy?”
The star also shared a post on her page, adding in the caption, “I woke up this morning and the first thing that came to my mind was-America hates women! – Not that I haven’t always felt the fury of misogyny on my neck.”
She went on to say, “They really despise freedom. They want cheaper taxes, and they don’t mind living under a totalitarian regime to acquire them. I do not want to give up our democracy! Now we’ll have to fight much harder to keep it. Americans who supported Trump or did not vote at all shown that many people are willing to allow a dictatorship to gain power. I do not want my pals who are not natural-born Americans to be interned. I want my children and their friends to have agency over their bodies!! To feel valuable. Not like second-class citizens. How could women vote for Donald Trump? “We fought so hard for so much!”
