Spotify has experienced a service outage, leaving thousands of users unable to stream music.
The audio streaming company has confirmed that it is aware of a problem with its services and stated in a social media post that it is “checking them out”.
Thousands of UK Spotify users have reported being unable to stream music online, with audio only available from a user’s library.
According to service monitoring website Downdetector, Spotify’s problems began around 1pm on Wednesday, with over 20,000 reports of user issues with the service logged since then.
It stated that users were reporting issues with both the Spotify app and the website.
Spotify said in a statement posted to X, formerly Twitter, that “we’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out.”
The company did not provide any additional information on what caused the problem or how long its services may be disrupted.
In February, the Sweden-based company announced that its global user base had reached a record high of 675 million, a 12% increase over the previous year.
