A freeze warning has been issued for sections of the area into Wednesday AM

West Virginia (WCHS) — A freeze warning has been issued for the overnight hours until Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a warning for subfreezing temperatures overnight and into the early morning hours on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The freeze warning applies to Cabell, Wayne, Mason, Jackson, Lincoln, Putnam, Kanawha, Roane, Mingo, Logan, and Boone counties in West Virginia. The counties of Vinton, Meigs, Gallia, and Lawrence in Ohio, as well as Greenup, Carter, Boyd, Lawrence, and Jackson in Kentucky, are included.

Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as 21 degrees Fahrenheit overnight, potentially killing crops or other sensitive vegetation, according to the National Weather Service.
