FAST FOOD? McDonald's warns irate customers 'time is of the importance' after a '20-minute' drive-thru wait - and a critical tool didn't assist

The chain’s slow service has sparked numerous complaints on social media.

A customer, Robert (@rpacktor), posted on X: “More than a dozen cars parked waiting for food at the drive-through.”

“Over twenty minutes so far and still half a dozen cars in front of me.”

The fast-food icon quickly responded, saying, “We understand that time is of the essence, Robert.”

“Please share your contact info, email address, and restaurant address via DM, so we can look into it.”

Another user, GStatPro, piled on, complaining: “I will never understand the point of ordering ahead on an app or using your drive thru if I still have to park at @McDonalds for another 20 minutes.”

McDonald’s responded with the familiar line, “We understand the urgency of the situation.”

“Share with us your contact info, app email address and restaurant address via DM so we can see what’s up.”

It’s unclear which McDonald’s locations were the target of the complaints, but the frustration was palpable.

McDonald’s website does not provide specific target times for drive-thru orders.

But speed is a key selling point of the Golden Arches experience, and many diners clearly believe it is not being delivered.

The drive-thru drama follows a recent wave of customer complaints about not receiving refunds for cancelled orders, even after a year.

In one heated exchange, an enraged diner fumed in response to a McDonald’s promotional tweet that read “Want anything from McDonald’s?”: “Nope, you guys are thieves!” Your employees cancelled two app orders, and I never received a refund for either of them!!

“I keep getting ignored it’s been over a year!”

The enraged customer threatened legal action, saying, “Time for a lawyer, I guess.”

Their post received over 5,000 views, prompting McDonald’s to once again offer assistance.

The chain informed the user: “This should not have happened. Share your contact information, app email address, and a screenshot of your order receipt via DM so we can look into this.”

But the customer responded, “It’s already been over a year!” How am I supposed to find that information?!!!”
