On April 9, 2025, the United States Social Security Administration will deliver additional checks to qualifying disability beneficiaries. Only eligible Americans can get this benefit payment. Because there are four separate payment days each month, not all Americans qualify.
However, by meeting a few conditions, we will be able to receive this new check before the end of the week. Some disabled pensioners will receive payment on April 9th, while others will receive payment in subsequent days. It all depends on the citizen’s eligibility conditions and the collection method they have chosen.
Requirements for the new disability payment
As previously stated, the next Social Security payment will be paid on April 9, 2025. This benefit is exclusively available to group 2 retirees, regardless of their current benefit type. This means that group 2 retirees can get the benefit without difficulty, regardless of whether they receive the Disability payment or the Old-Age Retirement Payment.
Thus, the citizens who will get the payment are those who:
- Have their birthday between the 1st and 10th of the month.
- Have had their Social Security check accepted since after May 1997.
To receive the Disability benefit payment on the same day it is paid, Direct Deposit must be activated. If we activate it, we will be able to receive this check in full on the 9th of the month; otherwise, the cash may arrive a few days later.
Other Americans can receive their disability benefits on other payment days throughout the month. In addition to last April 3rd, the administration will deliver payments to retirees in groups 3 and 4 on April 16th and 23rd, respectively. Simply being a member of these groups is sufficient to reap the benefits without difficulty.
New amounts of Disability payments in 2025
The Disability retirement payment increased in January due to the COLA, resulting in a maximum monthly benefit of $4,081. However, not all individuals can receive this amount.
Each US citizen has a personal amount based on their employment history and situation. So, if you are a member of this retiree group, you will receive your regular check on April 9th.
