PARKERSBURG, West Virginia (WTAP) – The 2025 USBS W.Va. State Tournament was held in Parkersburg, bringing the community together for a weekend of fun.
The State Tournament is held in a different town in West Virginia each year. The tournament began on Saturday, March 22, and will conclude on April 13.
The doubles and singles events were held on Saturdays at Emerson Lanes, while the team event was held on Sundays at Pike Street Lanes.
On Sunday, roughly 100 people bowled during each shift. People traveled throughout West Virginia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Some people traveled from Gallipolis, Ohio.
Eric Clark, one of the Parkersburg USBC Directors, stated that everyone enjoyed the tournament.
“So, we enjoy our tournaments. We love organizing tournaments for our bowlers. The advantage of this tournament over some of our smaller tournaments is that it attracts people from all over. It’s excellent for our economy. So it’s just great to see how everyone else enjoys the sport of bowling,” Clark said.
There were two Parkersburg families in attendance, with three generations of bowlers competing in the team event.
Next year’s tournament will be held in a different town. You can get updates by visiting the Parkersburg USBC’s Facebook page.
