SSDI payments are a significant source of income for thousands of US citizens. Furthermore, many of these citizens receive no other benefits, making the Disability payment critical to their well-being.
However, not all Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) payments made by the Social Security Administration reach all beneficiaries. It is important to note that we can only receive one SSDI payment per month, but we can anticipate which day of the month it will be paid. This is a significant advantage because it allows us to more effectively plan our household finances.
All of this aside, it is important to remember that Americans who retire due to age, not just those on SSDI, frequently have no other source of income. That is why it is critical to be thoroughly familiar with this payment schedule. If we stick to the full payment schedule, we won’t have to rely on anyone else.
Upcoming SSDI payments
The next SSDI payment in the United States will be sent on April 9, 2025. This check will only be available to Group 2 retirees, so if you have an accepted benefit and are one of these beneficiaries, you will be able to take full advantage of it.
To be part of group 2, only two requirements are necessary:
- Have a check from after May 1997. Any benefit accepted after that time falls under this group.
- Have a birthday between the 1st and 10th of any month.
The collection method has a direct impact on when a retiree receives their SSDI payment or other benefits, even though there are no additional requirements for group 2. If we want to receive the payment on the same day it is sent, we must activate Direct Deposit.
Americans who have not activated this method of collection can still collect their payment, but it will take approximately three days. This means that instead of receiving the check on April 9th, they could receive it on April 10th, 11th, or any day thereafter.
