Tax Season began for United States citizens at the end of January 2025, but it is now coming to an end, which means that it will soon be impossible to send the Tax Return to the IRS without incurring a penalty.
Of course, it is possible to request an extension of the current tax season, but not all US citizens are eligible.
Given that the Tax Season lasts several months, it is reasonable to expect the IRS to have announced the deadline by now. The end date of this tax season is approaching quickly, and if we don’t keep it in mind, we may make a mistake.
Also, remember that there is a lot of documentation to be sent in order for the IRS to process our Tax Return.
If we don’t send all the documentation on time, the IRS will not be able to process our Tax Refund or we could lose part of it if we send everything later. Nobody wants to lose part of their money, so doing this as soon as possible is the best idea.
When does IRS Tax Season end?
In 2025, tax season will end on April 15th. So we only have a few days to resolve all of our issues regarding the documentation to be sent. If we already have the documentation ready, we must send it to the IRS as soon as possible, regardless of how we do so.
Without a doubt, using tools like Direct File or getting direct assistance from an IRS employee can make it easier to send the Tax Return. Many Americans who can use these tools are unaware that they are free, so it’s a good idea to look into the most convenient options.
Once we have sent the Tax Return we will only have to wait around three weeks for the IRS to check everything and send us the corresponding Tax Refund.
If we have Direct Deposit set up to get this type of payment, we will have the money on the same day it is sent. If we don’t have it set up we will have to wait a few more days.
