LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The 17th Annual Lewisburg Chocolate Festival is set for Friday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Lewisburg, promising a delightful mix of chocolate indulgences, live entertainment, and family fun.
Visitors can savor an array of chocolate creations, such as jalapeño hot chocolate, chocolate-covered bacon, avalanche cookies, blondie brownies with chocolate drizzle, ChocoVine Double Dutch Dark Chocolate Dessert Wine, and white chocolate bark studded with cranberries, pistachios, and almonds. Live performances will feature 2nd Block Rock and Lee Dean channeling Frank Sinatra. Other highlights include El Gleno Grande, dubbed “The Horse Guy,” and Marcus Fioravante of Gum Store Studios, who will appear as the Chocolate King on stilts.
The festival offers a lineup of engaging activities, including:
- The Chocolate Chase, hosted by WV Hospice (register at VisitLewisburgWV.com)
- Chef demonstrations by Chef Jean Francois of The Greenbrier and Chef Pablo Rodriguez of The Homestead
- A chocolate tempering demo by KevBot Chocolate
- The Mousse Eating Contest, presented by the Lewisburg Rotary Club
- Storytelling by Greenbrier Valley Theatre with Always Keep Your Lion on a Leash
- A pet adoption event by the Humane Society at Academy Park
Additional perks include free Candyland-themed photos at Sheena Pendley’s studio and face painting by Nicole Suptic on Court Street for $8 and up.
Most events are free to attend. Tasting tickets are available online through Thursday, April 10, at 11:59 p.m., with limited tickets offered on the day of the event. Typically, attendees buy 20-25 tickets per person.
This year, the festival benefits the Greenbrier Historical Society, which has assisted with ticket sales and volunteer efforts. A portion of proceeds will support the society’s mission to preserve the heritage of Greenbrier Valley, spanning Monroe, Greenbrier, Pocahontas, and Nicholas counties.
