There is both a dividend and an energy relief payment in the April PFD check. If you are expecting the money, here’s what you need to know.
In April 2025, Alaskans will get a big financial boost when the state prepares to give out this year’s Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD). Alaska’s oil and gas revenues pay for this annual stimulus, which is a key part of helping families and boosting local economies. In 2025, those who are eligible will get a total payment of $1,702. This is a 30% increase over the amount given last year.
The PFD program has been around since 1976 ands main goal is to make sure that Alaska’s residents directly benefit from the state’s natural resource wealth. In addition to helping individuals, these payments also boost the state’s spending power, which is good for businesses and communities as a whole.
Who Is Eligible for the $1,702 PFD Stimulus Check?
The 2025 payout is divided into two components:
- $1,403.83 from the annual Permanent Fund Dividend
- $298.17 in a one-time energy relief payment
Totaling $1,702 for each eligible recipient.
To qualify, applicants must meet several key requirements:
- Be a resident of Alaska for the full year prior to applying
- Have spent at least 72 hours in Alaska within the last two years
- Not have been convicted of a felony in the previous year
