Kim Erskine for Mayor of Ronceverte hosts a free community event called Cookies with the Candidate

Kim Erskine, a Ronceverte native, warmly invites the public to Cookies with the Candidate, a family-friendly, community-driven event on Saturday, April 26th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Riverside Amphitheater in Ronceverte Island Park. This gathering is designed to foster community spirit, showcase local musical talent, and promote voter education while sparking thoughtful discussions about Ronceverte’s future.

The event emphasizes collaboration and connection, featuring live performances by gifted local artists MA’AM, Haley Burns, and Nathan Seldomridge. Attendees can enjoy free cookies crafted by small West Virginia bakeries, while When Pigs Fly will offer their renowned pulled-pork BBQ and hot dogs for purchase throughout the day.

Rooted in the campaign theme “A United Ronceverte for A Stronger Future,” the event reflects Erskine’s commitment to inclusivity and unity. A Voter Registration Station, staffed by volunteers, will be available to help attendees verify their voter registration status or register to vote. While the Ronceverte Municipal Election is set for Tuesday, June 3rd, from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM at City Hall, this station will also serve as a resource for upcoming elections across West Virginia.

“Community support transcends boundaries,” Erskine said. “Whether you’re from Ronceverte, a nearby town, or beyond, you’re invited to join us. This event is about celebrating what makes our region unique, coming together, and ensuring every voice counts. I can’t wait to connect with both new and familiar faces as we shape a brighter future for Ronceverte.”

Open to all, the event encourages participation—whether by spreading the word, engaging with the Erskine for Ronceverte Facebook page, or contributing resources. Supporters can donate via Venmo (@Kim-Erskine-2) or by check (228 Elm St.) or explore additional ways to back the campaign’s vision.
