White House officials invited a number of faith leaders from across the country to visit the Oval Office on Wednesday and pray for President Donald Trump and his administration.

A Trump administration X account posted a photo of the leaders gathered around the president while he sat at his desk. William Wolfe, executive director of the Center for Baptist Leadership, was one of the attendees who prayed for the president.

“It was a huge honor to represent @BaptistLeaders and meet @realDonaldTrump today along with other Christian leaders and pray for him in the Oval Office,” Wolfe said in a tweet. “It’s been an incredible day—been keeping this under wraps until it happened, but can’t wait to share more!!”

WallBuilders founder David Barton, who was also among the faith leaders, wrote on X that it was “an honor” to pray for Trump at the White House. Barton’s company aims to educate the public about the Bible’s role in the writings of the country’s founding fathers.

Trump has previously invited a large number of faith leaders to visit the White House, including during his first presidential term in 2017. Then-Vice President Mike Pence began the evening dinner by thanking the attendees for their religious services, which was followed by Trump’s statement that the United States is “a proud nation of believers.”

After the assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024, the then-presidential candidate thanked God for saving his life and preventing “the unthinkable from happening.”
