Judge who blocked deportation planes 'defies logic': Tom Homan

“Border czar” Tom Homan chastised the judge who tried to halt the deportation flights of 261 illegal immigrants.

Judge James Boasberg of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia issued a ruling on Saturday night prohibiting deportation flights for 14 days while he presided over a case involving five immigrants with active deportation orders.

The Trump administration proceeded with the deportations because the planes were already airborne when Boasberg’s ruling was issued.

“I’m the border czar,” Homan said Monday on Fox News’ Fox & Friends. “Once you’re outside the border, it’s as it is. Whether in international waters or already on the way south and about to land.

Do you know what? We did what we had to do: we removed terrorists who posed significant public safety threats to the United States, as ordered by the president of the United States.

We did the correct thing. It simply defies logic. I mean, who in their right mind, whether they are judges or not, wants [Tren de Aragua], a recognised terrorist organisation sent here by the Maduro regime, to cause havoc and unsettle the United States?

“We will make this country safe again… “I’m proud to be a part of this administration,” Homan said. “We will not stop. I do not care what the judges think. I do not care what the Left thinks. “We’re coming.”

Trump critics have warned that the administration will defy judges’ orders, which Trump has denied. The White House denied on Monday that it ignored the judge’s order to return the immigrants to the United States, saying the plane was already over international waters when the ruling was issued.

El Salvador received 2,238 deported immigrants, including Venezuelans affiliated with the Tren de Aragua gang. Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele met them at the Terrorism Confinement Centre. All prisoners will be there for at least one year.

“What’s next?” Lawrence Jones, a Fox News host, enquired.

“Another flight,” Homan announced. “Another flight every day.” Teams will be out there every day. Every day, men and women from [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] will be in this country’s neighbourhoods arresting criminal illegal aliens, as well as public and national security threats. Lawrence, they won’t stop us.”

When Homan started working for the Trump administration, there were an estimated 1.3 million illegal immigrants with pending deportation orders.

As of February, there had been just over 8,300 encounters with migrants at the southwest border since the start of the year. This follows three years of more than 150,000 migrants attempting to cross each month.

Homan reports a significant decrease in apprehensions on the southwest border during the first two days of the second Trump administration, with only 766 reported.
