New formula for SSDI payment in March 2025: COLA increases future benefits

In March 2025, the SSDI payment in the United States will be higher than in March 2024. This payment will undoubtedly provide economic relief to thousands of beneficiaries, but it will be the same amount as received in previous months of this year.

However, it is true that for some retirees, the Fairness Act may alter their benefit check slightly, so we should keep an eye on our monthly Social Security paycheck, whether SSDI or not. The important thing to remember in these cases is that your Social Security payment will arrive every month, regardless of the amount.

So, we can make plans around our monthly Social Security checks, but always knowing that our budget is limited. Of course, if we have an SSDI payment, there are other checks like SNAP Food Stamps or SSI that we can apply for to get a little extra money and enjoy a more comfortable life.

What is the new SSDI in March 2025?

Last January, the 2025 COLA was implemented to increase US citizens’ monthly benefits. SSDI payments reached a new high, with checks worth up to $4,018 per month. However, not all beneficiaries are eligible for such a large payout.

Thus, on March 19, 2025, the COLA will appear on the checks again, ensuring that they arrive on time as usual. Of course, the payment made on this date of the month will only benefit a specific group of beneficiaries.

If you received a retirement payment in February 2025, you already know how much you will receive next time, as long as the Fairness Act does not increase your monthly check. So, the new March 2025 SSDI payment will arrive soon for these retirees, and it will be the same as in previous months.

Who receives the new March 2025 SSDI?

The payment will be sent on March 19, 2025, and it will only be to group 3 retirees. The recipients of this benefit must meet two requirements. On the one hand, the payment must have been accepted after May 1997. This is the first of the mandatory requirements.

The other mandatory requirement is that your birthday fall between the 11th and 20th of any given month. This group can receive their SSDI check on the 19th of the month, but only if they have Direct Deposit enabled. We will not have to wait a single day to receive our retirement check thanks to this payment method.
