April Social Security Payment of $967 Arrives in 17 Days – Are You Eligible?

The April Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment, worth up to $967, will be distributed to millions of beneficiaries in 17 days.

The next round of SSI payments is scheduled for April 1. According to the Social Security Administration (SSA), SSI payments are made to people who have severe disabilities that limit their earnings.

The payment amount varies according to filing status. Individuals may receive up to $967 per month, couples filing jointly up to $1,450, and essential persons caring for SSI recipients up to $484.

These figures have risen by 2.5% over the previous year due to inflation.

To be eligible for SSI, applicants must be at least partially blind or have a physical or mental condition that has severely limited daily activities for at least 12 months or is expected to cause death.

Recipients can use an SSA calculator to estimate their payments.

SSI payments are separate from regular Social Security benefits. Receiving Social Security benefits does not automatically entitle someone to SSI payments, and vice versa.
