CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey has declared a State of Emergency in fourteen counties following severe flooding last month.
The governor’s office has announced that the State of Emergency will be extended for another 30 days. This affects the following counties: Boone, Cabell, Greenbrier, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Mercer, McDowell, Mingo, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers, Wayne, and Wyoming.
On February 6, 2025, the governor’s office issued a State of Emergency for Cabell and Kanawha counties, which was later amended on February 15 for 10 counties due to heavy rainfall, with additional counties added the following day.
