SBA delays the disaster loan application deadline for victims of Hurricanes Helene and Milton

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has extended the deadline for disaster loan applications for individuals and businesses affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton to April 27, 2025, due to delays caused by a federal funding lapse.

The United States Small Business Administration (SBA) has extended the deadline for physical disaster loan applications for businesses and residents affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

The new application deadline is April 27, 2025, following delays caused by a federal disaster funding lapse from October 15 to December 21, 2024.

The extension covers disaster declarations in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, and West Virginia, where residents and businesses were severely damaged by the storms.

Those affected can apply for SBA disaster assistance loans online at the MySBA Loan Portal (https://lending.sba.gov) or at local assistance centers.

Businesses, nonprofit organizations, and homeowners in affected areas may qualify for low-interest loans to repair or replace damaged property. Loan amounts and terms are determined individually based on financial need.

Applicants seeking additional assistance can contact the SBA Disaster Assistance Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 or disastercustomerservice@sba.gov.
