CHARLESTON, WV- The West Virginia House of Delegates met on Day 10 of the Legislative Session, advancing several bills for further consideration.
House Bill 2053, which adds the United States Space Force to the list of recognized armed forces, passed to the third reading without amendment.
Additionally, three bills were introduced on first reading:
- HB 2042 – Allows a guardian ad litem to request a court-appointed special advocate for children in neglect and abuse cases.
- HB 2066 – Establishes a new felony for the damage, destruction, or theft of first responder equipment.
- HB 2363 – Clarifies that laws regarding the filming of sexually explicit conduct involving minors do not apply to law enforcement, attorneys, judges, jurors, or court personnel performing official duties.
