CHARLESTON, West Virginia – A bill aimed at restoring gun rights to felons convicted of a nonviolent offense was introduced in the House of Delegates Wednesday.

For those convicted of nonviolent felonies, the bill would automatically restore their Second Amendment rights after serving their sentence and any other court-ordered penalties, restitution, or fines.

House Bill 2618, co-sponsored by Delegates Horst, Jennings, D. Smith, Coop-Gonzalez, Hornby, Masters, Worrell, Jeffries, Maynor, Crouse, and White, will now be referred to the Judiciary Committee.
