A body has been discovered during the search for a man who went missing in the Highlands in December.

Marc Drostle, 28, is thought to have traveled to Aviemore in the Cairngorms from London on Thursday, December 12.

Several sightings of him were reported between December 19 and 24, but police were unable to locate him.

He was officially reported missing on December 21st.

Police Scotland said on Thursday that officers went to a woodland area in Nethy Bridge, Strathspey, where he had reportedly been seen, at around 7.50 a.m. and discovered a body.

Emergency services, including mountain rescue teams, also responded and recovered the body.

Formal identification has yet to take place, but Mr Drostle’s family has been notified.

His death is not considered suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
