The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP benefits, are distributed on time and without delay in the state of Florida, where 2.96 million people receive financial assistance for the purchase of nutritious foods and beverages.
The Access Florida card is your wild card: an EBT that functions like a debit card but has your benefits preloaded.
When do you have it in your hands? Only after they’ve approved your application. If you need advice from a Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) official, call 1-888-356-3281.
They will assist you throughout the entire process, from the initial application to maintaining “recertifications,” which means periodically checking that you still qualify for payments.
How much do you get in SNAP benefits according to your family?
Those who have recently applied or are considering doing so should be aware that the normal waiting time to receive the first payment is 30 days; however, if the household situation is critical and they have no income at the time of applying, an expedited mode is activated, which can speed up the process and send the first deposit in as little as 7 days.
The amounts for 2025 are valid at the federal level and apply to the 48 contiguous states and Washington, DC.
According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), these are the values for household size:
- 1 person: Maximum $292 (average $199)
- 2 people: Up to $536 (about $364)
- 3 people: Goes up to $768 (about $594 in practice)
- 4 people: Here it is $975 (but calculate $726)
- 5 people: Up to $1,158 (normally $845)
- 6 people: As much $1,390 (about $1,018)
- 7 people: Maximum is $1,536 (average $1,116)
- 8 people: You can get up to $1,756 (about $1,317)
- And for each extra person in the house, it adds $220.
Payment dates in Florida are organized based on the eighth and ninth digits of your case number (read them backwards and leave out the tenth number). For example, if the last three digits of your case number are 789, remove the 9 and flip the remaining two digits: your reference number is 87.
