In February, the US government and the Social Security Administration will make new payments to disability beneficiaries who have previously accepted benefits. However, it is true that not all retirees will be able to pick up their checks on the same day.
Some retirees will receive their benefits before Valentine’s Day, while others will have to wait a little longer for their monthly payments. In any case, receiving a Social Security check every month, whether for disability or not, means knowing when we will receive the payment ahead of time.
There are a total of 4 payment days within the Social Security Disability checks. The group of retirees to which each beneficiary belongs determines whether we will receive the payment earlier or later. In general, these payments arrive a few days later than when they are sent out unless we have Direct Deposit activated.
New Social Security Disability payments
The upcoming Social Security Disability payments will arrive on February 12th. On this day, Americans who have an accepted benefit will be able to receive the check without difficulty. However, not all groups of retirees are paid on this day.

To receive the payment on February 12th, we will have to:
- Have applied for a Social Security benefit after May 1997.
- Be born between the 1st and 10th of any month.
Only by meeting both requirements will you be eligible for this Disability check payment, so make sure you are a member of that group in order to receive the benefit on that date.
Without Direct Deposit, the funds will take a few days to appear in the checking account, whereas with this method, we will be able to access them on the same day they are sent.
What is the maximum payment for Disability in 2025?
Disability payments can reach $4,018 in 2025, but not all beneficiaries are eligible for this benefit. Because each beneficiary receives a separate check, the amount we can receive varies slightly over time.
In the case where the check is not for disability but for retirement due to age, the figure can reach $5,180 per month. This means we can have a much larger monthly check, though it is difficult to obtain the maximum amount.
The days for sending benefits are consistent across all types of retirement. As a result, a beneficiary receiving a group 2 disability benefit will be able to collect their check on the same day as a group 2 age retirement beneficiary.
