Martins Ferry, Ohio – A West Virginia man is in custody following an early morning traffic stop that resulted in the discovery of a large amount of narcotics.
According to the Martins Ferry Police Department, on February 8, Officer Barrett stopped a vehicle that had committed multiple traffic violations.
Officer Barrett stopped the car and noticed several suspicious behaviors among the occupants.
After the occupants admitted to their presence in the vehicle, Officer Carpenter searched it and discovered drugs.
During the search, officers discovered a large amount of drug paraphernalia, including 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 6 grams of suspected fentanyl, 12 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and 10 amphetamine pills.
Kenneth Ward of West Virginia is currently in police custody and faces several charges that have yet to be disclosed.
