INCINNATI (WKRC). The fatality of Wednesday night’s plane crash near Reagan National Airport has been identified as Elizabeth Anne Keys, a 33-year-old woman from Cincinnati.
Keys, who was born in Cincinnati on January 29, 1992, graduated from Madeira High School in 2010 as valedictorian. She continued her study at Tufts University, where she graduated in 2014 after four years on the varsity sailing team. In 2020, she graduated from Georgetown University Law Center.
Ray Spicher, former Madeira High School principal, spoke about Keys on Thursday.
“She was just such an outstanding student, outstanding young lady, just the kind of person that we need many, many more of,” Spicher went on. “What a quality young lady she was, a leader around school, involved in all kinds of activities.”
Spicher was principal at the school from 2009 until his retirement in 2011.
“It’s shocking to know that you actually knew and had a relationship with someone who is one of the victims and their family,” according to Spicher.
Keys’ mother recalled her life as rich and full, surrounded by relatives and friends.
“Known for her warmth and kindness, she was recalled as lively and humorous, with a sharp wit that she valued in others. Liz’s presence always made gatherings better; she was full of light and enthusiasm,” her mother recalled.
“Words cannot express how deeply Elizabeth, my Bitsy, will be missed,” her mother remarked. “We are filled with unbearable sorrow and despair at our loss.”
