Washington, DC- Last Thursday, the US House of Representatives passed H.R. 21, the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This legislation requires medical care for any infant born alive following a botched abortion.
Congressman Riley M. Moore co-sponsored the bill, which was passed today with bipartisan support.
Congressman Moore released the following statement:
“My constituents sent me to Washington to protect the unborn and build a pro-life society. That’s exactly what I plan to accomplish. While West Virginia already has the greatest pro-life laws in the country, many states lag behind, and Congress must do everything possible to preserve life. With the March for Life taking place in the nation’s capital tomorrow, there was no better moment to enact this bipartisan legislation, which I proudly co-sponsored.
“It’s also deeply troubling that 204 of my Democratic colleagues voted against this reasonable protection for the most vulnerable children. A culture that refuses to acknowledge a life when a newborn is screaming and gasping for air in front of their eyes is rotten to the core. “We must do better.”
