CALLOWAY HEIGHTS, WV. – A Raleigh County woman was arrested following a domestic dispute in Calloway Heights after allegedly attacking her boyfriend with a knife, resulting in a laceration across his stomach.
According to a criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to a Hubbard Street residence on December 27, 2024, after receiving a 911 call reporting a domestic incident.
When officers arrived, they interviewed the victim, who described a violent altercation with his girlfriend, 29-year-old Ellen Martin.
The victim claimed that Martin had obtained and used heroin from his nephew earlier in the evening.
Martin began yelling at the screen while he was watching television, prompting him to request that she stop. This request turned into a verbal argument.
During the altercation, Martin allegedly went to the kitchen and returned with one hand hidden behind her back.
The victim stated that when he stood up from his recliner, Martin brandished a black-handled kitchen knife about 6-8 inches long and threatened him, saying, “I’ll [expletive] kill you.”
She then cut him across the stomach, allegedly with the intent to cause bodily harm.
Officers discovered a visible laceration on the victim’s stomach, which corresponded with his account of the attack.
After the incident, the victim left the house, and a family member called 911 to report the assault.
