Roundtown Players Theatre announces the cast for A Few Good Men

Roundtown Players Theatre, now in its 56th year, has announced the cast for its first show for 2023, A Few Good Men. The two-act play, written by Aaron Sorkin, is now in production with performances beginning March 23rd and running through April 1st.
If you are not familiar with the play, you may know the 1992 movie of the same name. The film adaptation, which was also written by Aaron Sorkin, had a star-studded cast that included Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Jack Nicholson, Kevin Bacon, and Kiefer Sutherland.
This production will be the first play at Roundtown Players to be directed by Christopher Bowen. “I’ve always been a huge fan of Aaron Sorkin and his writing. From A Few Good on the stage and screen to movies like The American President, Money Ball, and The Social Network, they all have one thing in common: well-written dialog,” Bowen shared while speaking about the project. “Plus, the play’s core values of service, honor, and loyalty ring true for me.”
Bowen, a resident of Pickaway County and a military veteran, has enlisted the talents of Maddy McCain as assistant director. McCain, a daughter of a navy veteran, is no stranger to Roundtown Players, and has been involved on and off-stage in all of the theatre’s 2022 productions.
When it came to casting A Few Good Men, the directors brought a different approach by including both actors and actresses in the ensemble cast. When asked about having women play some of the traditional male roles, Bowen said, “We have cast some amazing women in this production, and we can’t wait for everyone to see what they can do with their roles.”
The local cast includes the talents of Jonathan Bauman, Grace Bennett, Trey Bigam, Letrea Fowlkes, Ka Feola, Geoffrey Funkhouser, TinaMarie Guilfoyle, Bekah Jenkins, Arron Kerns, Jimmy Laux, Elayna Locke, James Major, Lori Mohr, Isaiah Serra, and Rachel Thompson.
When asked about the most quoted line in the movie version of A Few Good Men, the director had this to say.: “Don’t worry, you’ll get to hear all about the truth. If you can or can’t handle it, well, that’s up for discussion.”
Roundtown Players Theatre is located in downtown Circleville at 165 East Main St. Advanced tickets can be purchased online in advance or in person at the box office beginning 30 minutes before each show.
