When asked what words of encouragement she would share to inspire a fellow artist, this was what Megan Beavers of El Mae Creations stated to us.
El Mae Creations is Megan’s way of showcasing her talents while giving the people of Circleville and Pickaway County or those browsing on Etsy something unique to add a little flare of style to your outfit or home.
“I’ve always had a passion for creating and discovering new items to work on and with. From hand-poured soy candles to personalized popsicle holders, I enjoy doing it all,” Megan shared.
Recently, Megan has added clay to her range of pieces she can make. With clay, she’s able to delve into creating pieces that will tie any outfit together.
“Over quarantine, my sister-in-law and I made a few pairs of earrings for fun, and then I was hooked. I love being able to wear what I’ve created and bring happiness to others with it as well,” Megan admitted, going on to add: “I’ve found working with clay to be a relaxing and forgiving process. It can be easily molded into whatever you’d like, there’s really no limit to what you can make with this. I mainly focus on creating earrings that give a little extra to any outfit. I’ve found different techniques, cutters, and molds to help give each pair a life of its own. Just a little bit of time to create, and then we bake them and add on the hardware.”
El Mae Creations earrings offer a variety of studs and dangles, with styles ranging from adorable succulents, trendy fall leaves, varieties of different colored rainbows, flowers, and of course… pumpkins. Megan confessed that the variety of pumpkin earrings she offers is her favorite thing to create.
Aside from handmade clay earrings, you can find unique gift items with El Mae’s hand-cut sanded bottle candles. These upcycled bottles hold your choice of El Mae’s different scents in a soy candle that is sure to enhance the Beer lover’s gift.
“This started years ago as Christmas gifts for loved ones and has blossomed into a love of mine. I love finding new scents to fill the home from lemon pound cake to Frasier fir, we offer a variety to choose from,” Megan said.
El Mae’s Creations offers the option for people to order custom orders of their different items, such as popsicle holders perfect for little ones, home decor to dress up your living space, t-shirts, and more.
Megan offers a lot with El Mae’s Creations and it is evident that this is a passion of hers – but there are times as an artist, creator, and a business person that one may wonder if what they’re doing is making a difference. If art is something you’re looking to pursue as a career choice or to bring happiness to others or yourself, Megan’s thoughts are to just keep at it and keep moving forward.
“Continue creating, because seeing someone happy over something that you’ve made is the best feeling, even if that someone is only you,” Megan states, sharing: “I can only hope that in these times what I create can bring some light to someone’s life.”
